Fun with Phrases - Mixing Minced Oaths

During my youth, both "Geez Louise" and "For Pete's sake" were commonly used minced oaths in my family.

Here is my spin on the two:

Geez Louise + For Pete's sake







= For Louise's sake

    Hi, could we say that phrase is the same as constituent ? Cuz I'm a little confused..it might be stupid question but I'm not sure if I can treat it as one and the same... ;/

    Anon - You are correct; they are not one and the same. Here is the definition of constituent from thefreedictionary.com: (Linguistics / Grammar) Linguistics a word, phrase, or clause forming a part of a larger construction.
